Little Girl who Lives Down the Lane

Little Girl who Lives Down the Lane

Nicolas Gessner
1976, 100 minutes

Synopsis

Left an orphan, a brilliant Jewish girl in her early teens is determined to follow the careful plans her father made for her before he died: to become "very small in the world" in their house at the edge of town and grow up by herself, rather than surrender her fate to anyone else. When a dirty old man and various local busybodies begin to suspect that she is alone, she and her new boy friend must take drastic steps to preserve her independence.
